Campus Pride Center events include fiction and non-fiction book clubs each semester, a series of queer history including: Stonewall, Harvey Milk, The White Night Riots, Gilbert Baker and The Pride Flag, Paragraph 175, Alan Turing, Two Spirit, The History of Drag and Much More! The annual Hallowqueen drag show, on hold during two years of the pandemic, will take place in 2021 in the regional Weidner Center of Performing Arts on the UWGB campus. Students at UWGB attend the Big Gay each year and attend a state conference on health and wellness for LGBTQ+. National speaker Graham Moore spoke at our campus who spoke about writing and producing Imitation Game. The Pride Center received the NRHH organization of the year award for 2021-2022. The Pride Center receives funding from an alumnus' Foundation who provides yearly funding for 8 Legacy Pride Center interns, and funding for yearly Queer Leadership camps for both middle school and high school students. Two of these events focused on the experiences of and intern and a graduate student who are Two-Spirit. The Kress Athletic Events Center supports the Pride Center thru monthly DEI Committee meetings which include collaboration with the Division 21 Task force focused on Athletes who are transgender, and the adidas X Athlete Ally organization and planning for Pride Night Athletic for women's basketball, women's volleyball, and future Pride Nights for 2022-2023 which will expand to several more Pride nights for other teams.ĭuring the 2021-2022 over 77 events were offered and were well attended by the campus and community. New employees are shown the SAFE Ally stickers posted in offices across campus, and are informed of the Employee Resource Group they may join. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has a strong commitment to the Pride Centers by the entire Administration and a vast majority of faculty/staff as demonstrated by their participation in the monthly SAFE Ally Level 1 and 2 Training, in which over 2600 participants, of employees and students have occurred since 2011.
